The Health and Social Care Select Committee has renewed its call for evidence of problems with the Tier 2 visa system affecting overseas GPs working in the UK.

MPs had asked in November 2017 for the public to forward cases of GP visa issues after the Health and Social Care Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, wrote to the Committee on the issue of Non-EEA General Practitioner Visa regulation.

The Committee is keen to hear about cases “where the process is resulting in non-EEA overseas GPs leaving the UK or where delays are preventing doctors from taking up positions in the NHS.” Any examples sent in will be forwarded to Mr Hunt “as evidence that the process itself needs to be looked at again, and not to prompt any examination or re-examination of individual cases,” it said.
