A Resized Recall Image cb1July 10 2018

A Class 2 recall for a single batch of Fiasp FlexTouch 100 units/ml solution for injection pre-filled pen (Insulin Aspart) has been issued.

Manufacturer Novo Nordisk is recalling the batch due to the presence of particles in a small number of samples. The affected batch number is HP50949 and pack size 5, with the batch first being released on March 22 2018.

Pharmacies should quarantine any affected stock for return to the supplier.

As this is a pharmacy level recall there is no requirement to contact patients, the MHRA has said. However, if a patient asks about the recall, it said: “Please advise them to follow the advice given in the patient information leaflet regarding checking their insulin before use: ‘Check that the insulin in your pen is clear and colourless. Look through the insulin window. If the insulin looks cloudy, do not use the pen.’”

For medical information or stock enquiries contact Novo Nordisk Customer Care on 0845 600 5055 email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
