Teva launches levetiracetam oral solutionNovember 24 2014

Teva has launched levetiracetam 100mg/ml oral solution, a generic version of Keppra, for use in the treatment of epilepsy.

The oral solution is licensed for the following:

•    in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults and adolescents over the age of 16 with newly diagnosed epilepsy
•    as an adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults, adolescents, children and infants from one month of age
•    in the treatment of myoclonic seizures in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy
•    in the treatment of primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age with idiopathic generalised epilepsy.

The product is available in 300ml bottles, and packs include a 10ml oral syringe.
