Community pharmacy teams are being asked to do what they can to raise awareness during tomorrow’s #pharmacywinter campaigning day (November 21).

PSNC and other pharmacy organisations have prepared resources and activities to promote the Pharmacy Winter campaign. Its aims are to:

  • promote the roles that community pharmacy teams already play in helping people to stay healthy through winter and reducing pressure on other NHS services;
  • warn of the risks if any of these services are lost; and
  • highlight the many additional roles that community pharmacies could play in helping people and the NHS through the winter period.

PSNC is hoisting a reception for MPs at Westminster and local pharmaceutical committees have been organising visits of local councillors to community pharmacies. In addition, it is asking pharmacy teams to:

  • add a ‘Twibbon’ to your social media profile;
  • use the #pharmacywinter hashtag on social media (tweet templates are available from psnc.org.uk/wintercampaign)’
  • join the WePharmacists chat on November 21 8-9pm.

The National Pharmacy Association is asking members to “please keep an eye on the NPA’s social media channels and share our messages and bespoke photoboards, on the day.”
