Pharmacy software supplier Cegedim Rx has announced the launch of a fully integrated electronic CD register (eCDR) in its latest release of Pharmacy Manager 10.4.2.

The upgrade has been made in anticipation of the imminent activation of electronic controlled drug prescriptions in England, the company said. The software will allow CD entries to be made in the register as part of the dispensing process, reducing the possibility of errors/omissions and saving time. It also combines auditing tools and the eCDR can be backed up both on and off-site for additional data security.

The new system will also record CDs electronically within the PMR, and dispensary staff can scan a prescription to enter the endorsement options.

“These improved efficiencies are saving pharmacies an incredible amount of time which can now be better spent on service delivery and patient engagement,” said a company spokesman.
