Health Education England is seeking views on training and development needs from people working in the community pharmacy sector.

Its survey is collecting information around training requirements, recruitment experiences and working patterns of employees at each community pharmacy address in England. Every pharmacy is being emailed with a unique, secure log-in to access the questionnaire which closes on September 31 2017.

“The Community Pharmacies Workforce Survey is designed to inform the commissioning of clinical education and development for community pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the wider team,” said HEE.

The survey results will inform the “significant programme of education and development” currently being progressed by HEE, in collaboration with NHS England and funded by NHS England’s Pharmacy Integration Fund.

Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and other staff working in the 5,000 pharmacies operated by the large pharmacy multiples have already had the opportunity to complete the survey via the Company Chemists’ Association. The focus now is on independent pharmacies and small multiples.
