PSNC has issued a range of support information ahead of the start of the new flu vaccination season.

Last week it published a toolkit to help local pharmaceutical committees promote the service. PSNC has also drawn up two ‘Flu FAQs’ for its website.

The toolkit covers three main aspects:

  • launching a service
  • reaching out to local stakeholders
  • responding to queries.

It brings together: relevant PSNC Briefing documents and templates for press releases, radio transcripts and advertising; advice and email suggestions for drawing the service to the attention of patient groups and charities; and briefings on responding to questions from other health professions.

Public health England has also published a special ‘flu edition’ of its monthly Vaccine Update. This discusses:

  • resources for the Annual flu programme
  • vaccine information and availability for 2017 to 2018
  • Fluenz tetra order controls
  • over-ordering in the schools programme
  • an update for the ‘Stay Well this Winter’ campaign and resources
  • training resources for healthcare practitioners.
