Mental health is the theme of a new learning campaign from the Centre for Postgraduate Pharmacy Education. All pharmacists in England are being sent a ‘Mental health: support those living with mental health conditions’ pack which will be the focus of the campaign activities later this month.

In addition to the new learning resource, the campaign has five weekly challenges, and detailed learning and activities hosted on the CPPE website.

CPPE wants pharmacists to join in with the campaign and to show their support “through posting about the campaign on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #CPPEMH. If you complete all five challenges for CPPE’s Mental health learning campaign you will receive a free 12-month membership to the College of Mental Health Pharmacy (CMHP).”

The mental health campaign has been launched alongside two other educational programmes and resources.

A new self-directed e-learning course on an introduction to public health “has been designed to implement the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's (RPS) public health standards to help pharmacy professionals gain confidence in promoting and protecting public health in practice.”

In addition, the CPPE has also announced it will be delivering the second phase of education for pharmacists entering general practice. During the first phase, more than 450 pharmacists registered for the 18-month pathway. This comprised residential learning, study days and local learning sets.

This new phase of training is expected to see up to 1,500 pharmacists participate with training being delivered with educational partners at the Universities of Bath, Brighton, East Anglia (UEA), Exeter, Leeds and Manchester.

Pharmacists interested in enrolling on the general practice course need to do so via the CPPE website ahead of the January 2018 start date
