Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and bronchodilators are the focus of the latest Optimise learning programme published by the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education. 

The programme picks up on recent changes in the GOLD (Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease) guidelines in terms of the management of COPD. It also looks at the new combined bronchodilator inhalers currently on the market, to help learners understand what they are, when to recommend these inhalers and what their advantages are, says CPPE.

Optimise learning programmes are designed so that pharmacy professionals who work in a clinical setting can complete the COPD Optimise programme with their colleagues in small group learning sessions.

Annie Sellers, Programme Developer, CPPE, said: “So much has changed recently in terms of COPD guidance and the new inhalers that are available. This programme will help you get up to speed with these changes.”
