NHS England will launch a public health campaign promoting community pharmacies to parents with young children next month.

The Stay Well Pharmacy campaign will run from February 12 to March 26 and focus on minor ailments. The campaign will include television adverts, social media activity, posters and leaflets, and a media partnership with NetMums, said PSNC. Community pharmacists will feature in the campaign material, which will also have prominent pharmacy green cross imagery.

“The campaign will be targeting parents of children aged five years or under, aiming to increase their confidence and trust in the advice given by community pharmacy teams, and encourage them to use pharmacies rather than visiting their GP for minor health concerns,” said PSNC. “Local NHS England teams have been notified that the campaign will feature as one of community pharmacy’s six public health campaigns for the year.”

Pharmacy organisations are working to help NHS England collate training resources for community pharmacy looking at minor ailments in young children. Both PSNC ands the National Pharmacy Association have said they will be sharing more details of the campaign as soon as they have them.

In addition, the NPS said it is “always on the look-out for members who are willing to advocate for the sector in the local media and support campaigns such as Stay Well Pharmacy. It supports the NPA’s aspiration to build up and enable a network of spokespeople willing to support its campaign work. Email This email address is being protected from spambots.
