Ask Your Pharmacist Week is running from November 9 to 15, with the theme:

‘Ask Your Pharmacist about Medicines and More’

Activities taking place include: pharmacy visits by MPs and other local politicians; window and poster displays in pharmacies; local authorities, general practices and hospitals displaying ‘Medicines and More’ posters; radio interviews with pharmacists; and social media activity.

The National Pharmacy Association says this year’s AYP theme is “deliberately broad to give maximum flexibility for pharmacies and pharmacy stakeholders to focus on local priorities.” It has a number of resources to download from its campaign web pages.

Following on from AYP Week is Self Care Week, running from November 16-22, with the theme ‘Self care for life’. Posters and other resources are available from the Self Care Forum website.

AYP3

NHS England has also announced that it is taking its ‘Stay Well This Winter’ campaign road show visiting 67 sites across England during its five week campaign until December 5. It is promoting the national flu vaccination campaign as well as advice about keeping warm, contacting the pharmacy if starting to feel unwell and to plan ahead for repeat prescriptions.
