The Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance (ARMA) and NHS England have launched a new resource for health professionals and those commissioning musculoskeletal services.

The MSK Knowledge Hub aims to provide a searchable resource library to support health professionals working with people who have musculoskeletal conditions. “The Hub will allow the MSK community to debate innovative ideas and good practice, share resources, network and celebrate success. This knowledge base is aimed at professionals, not patients, and is free for anyone to search,” said ARMA.

Resources on the Hub include:

  • ‘MSK Return on Investment Tool’ – to help local commissioners provide cost-effective interventions for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions;
  • ‘Health Matters - Productive Healthy Ageing - Musculoskeletal Health’ – to help health professionals and local authorities make the case for action to support healthy productive later life with a specific reference to musculoskeletal health;
  • ‘Living Well for Longer’ – outlining five key areas and some of the things people can do to maintain independence, stay healthy, and active at all ages;
  • ‘Falls and fracture consensus statement resource pack’.

The Hub also incorporates an interactive MSK Forum enabling people to discuss and share views.

Health professionals who would like to share musculoskeletal-related articles or documents which meet ARMA’s criteria are asked register and then use the add a resource button to let ARMA know.
