Moorfields Pharmaceuticals has announced that it is still having production problems with regards unlicensed (specials) products at its facility in North London.

It announced difficulties with its manufacturing in June. However, it says some medically critical products are now becoming available.

While there are production difficulties with specials, Moorfields is sourcing alternative supplies from other NHS manufacturing units to help meet patient need. It emphasises that “the MHRA has stated that there is no evidence of a safety risk to patients and patients should continue to take their medicines accordingly.”

In addition, “Moorfields Pharmaceuticals’ branded products are not manufactured at the North London facility and all continue to be available from the usual wholesaler network,” says the company.
