IPS Specials has announced that five ‘specials’ items have been added to the Part VIIIB of the August Drug Tariff for England and Wales. Effective from August 1, the following are included:

  • eosin 2% solution
  • naltrexone 5mg/5ml oral solution
  • salicylic acid 20% ointment
  • salicylic acid 5% ointment
  • topiramate 100mg/5ml oral suspension  

In addition, amlodipine oral solutions and oral suspension in 5mg/5ml and 10mg/5ml strengths have been removed from Part VIIIB as a licensed alternative is now available.

On July 30, NHS Business Services Authority announced two changes to prices for Part VIIIA products in the July Drug Tariff as follows:

  • celiprolol 200mg tablets - £19.83
  • cimetidine 400mg tablets - £6.29
